Ridgefielders have one less place to get pizza.

Lions Bleecker Street Pizza closed down its 103 Danbury Road storefront at the end of last month. The business opened in late spring 2017.

A paper sign on the door of the former pizza shop directs anyone interested in the space to the office of building owner Steve Zemo, a Ridgefield developer and member of the Board of Selectmen.

Lions Bleecker Street Pizza also has a Newtown location that remains open.

The chain’s Ridgefield storefront was located in Copps Hill Common in a restaurant space that formerly housed Mima’s Meatballs, Sucre Sale, and The Cutting Board. Of those three restaurants, only Sucre Sale remains in business — moving locations within Copps Hill Commons, to 109 Danbury Road, in early 2017.

Bleecker Street was not the only pizza place in the Copps Hill Commons. The complex also holds Village Pizza and Genoa. A third pizza parlor, Venice Restaurant and Pizza, sits in the Copps Hill Plaza just north of Copps Hill Commons.
