Cantoral singers join together at Kabbalat Shabbat service
Cantor Kathryn Wolfe Sebo of The Temple-Tifereth Israel in Beachwood, Ohio will be joining the temple’s Cantor Deborah Katchko-Gray on Friday, June 21, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., at the Kabbalat Shabbat service of Congregation Shir Shalom of Westchester and Fairfield Counties, 46 Peaceable Street, Ridgefield.
Sebo has been a cantor for nearly 35 years. She has made several recordings for Tifereth Israel, including Rock My Soul Shabbat and Songs of the High Holy Days.
Cantor Katchko-Gray is in her 20th year at Shir Shalom. She is a leading advocate of integrating music in all aspects of Jewish life and culture. Her many recordings include Shabbat Jam and and Jewish Soul. In addition to her work with the synagogue’s Adult Choir, Talented Teens, and other activities, her friendships with professional musicians enables special festive Shabbat worship, such as the June 21 service with Cantor Sebo.
Cantor Debbie, as she is known, added, “We will be sharing a creative joyous service with our gifted friend Beth Styles.”
Styles is an award-winning composer and musical artist who serves as music director at Temple Beth El in Stamford, and is founder of Stamford choir New World Chorus. She also has worked with Diana Ross. She regularly appears as an artist-in-residence across the United States.
