Darien’s Ryan Hapgood splits Manhasset defenders Ashley Newman, left, and Despina Giannakopoulos during a girls lacrosse game on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 in Darien, Conn.
David Stewart / Hearst Connecticut MediaAnother impressive week for Darien keeps the Blue Wave at the top of the Connecticut Girls Lacrosse Coaches Top 10 Poll for the fifth consecutive week.
The Blue Wave had big wins over Wilton and St. Anthony’s (NY) early last week. Darien is 4-0 against out-of-state opponents, with one more contest remaining at Moorestown (NJ) on Monday night.
If the top 10 looks familiar, there’s good reason: The top 10 teams remained the same for the third straight week, with just a bit of shuffling in the bottom five spots.
New Fairfield jumped one spot to No. 6, and the next three teams were separated by just one point, with Greenwich and Newtown tying for seventh with 41 points, and Staples in ninth with 40 points.
