Girls ice hockey: Top performers from the 2022 CHSGHA tournament

Natalie Beach, Darien: Beach, a freshman, had five goals and an assist in the CHSGHA tournament. Her performance included a hat trick during a 6-2 win over Conard/Hall in the quarterfinals, and two goals and one assist in a 5-1 win over Avon in the semis.

Sophie Cuozzo, Guilford: A sophomore forward, Cuozzo led the Grizzlies with four goals in an 8-6 first-round win against Greenwich at Hamill Rink.

Meghan Croyle, ETB: The senior forward had a hat trick during the Storm’s 4-2 victory over the Stamford/Westhill/Staples co-op in the state quarterfinals. Croyle finished her career with 59 goals and 47 assists for 106 points.

Chelsea Donovan, Darien: The junior forward had a hat trick and an assist during the Blue Wave’s 5-1 victory over Avon in the state semifinals. In three tournament games, she had six points.

Maddie Epke, Guilford: The senior forward had a hat trick to help the Grizzlies hold off Greenwich 8-6 in the first round of the state playoffs. She finished her career with more than 250 points.

Nikki Ferraro, New Canaan: The freshman goalie collected 40 saves to help the Rams overcome Darien 4-3 in triple overtime in the state championship game. She made 24 saves in the three OTs.

Kaleigh Harden, New Canaan: Harden, a senior forward, scored the game-winning goal with 33.5 seconds remaining in a third overtime when New Canaan defeated Darien 4-3 for the state championship. She had five goals in three state tournament games and earned MVP honors. She finished her career with 144 points on 82 goals and 62 assists.

Claire Haupt, Darien: The Wave’s senior goalie racked up 50 saves during a wild state tournament final, as New Canaan defeated Darien 4-3 in triple overtime. Nineteen of those saves came during the overtime periods.

Shelby Little, Avon co-op: The senior had a goal and three assists in the state tournament, and led a defense which helped the Falcons get past Suffield 3-2 and Simsbury 3-1 in the first two rounds.

Mary McKiernan, ETB: The senior defender had a goal and two assists in a 4-2 victory over Stamford/Westhill/Staples co-op in the quarterfinals. She had 43 goals and 36 assists for 79 points during her career.

Nicole Partridge, Avon co-op: Partridge, a junior forward, had six points on three goals and three assists in three state playoff games to help the CCC champion Falcons reach the state semifinals.

Maren Riley, ETB: The Storm goalie made 36 saves in a 4-2 quarterfinal win against Stamford/Westhill/Staples and made 49 saves in a 4-1 loss to state champion New Canaan in the semifinals. She had save percentages of .920 this season and .904 in 65 career games.

Lexie Tully, New Canaan: The sophomore defender had six points with two goals and four assists during the Rams’ run to the state tournament championship. That included a one-goal, two-assist performance during a 4-1 win over ETB in the semifinals.
