First Team

Runner of the Year 

Rachel St. Germain 

Somers, Senior 

Stats: Runner-up in the New England Championships with a time of 19:07.08. Posted best time of 18:02 to win the State Open. It was the fifth fastest time on the Wickham Park course. Placed first in Class S (18:42). Owns course records at Stratton Brook, Winding Trails and Bolton High. 
Honors: All-New England, three-time Class S All-State, All-NCCC. 
Off the field: A member of the National Honor Society, St. Germain volunteers with the library reading program. Member of the Beta Club. Volunteered with the Savers clothing drive. 
Up next: Will run cross country and track at Quinnipiac.

Julia Antony 

Guilford, Senior 

Stats: Class MM champion in 19:45. Placed 10th at the State Open in 19:17. Antony finished 25th (20:31.16) at the New England meet. Team MVP for the Class MM winners. 
Honors: All-New England, Class MM All-State, All-SCC. 
Up next: Will run cross country and track at Brown.

Peyton Bornstein 

Tolland, Senior 

Stats: Class M champion with a time of 20:09. Placed 15th at the State Open in 19:31. First in the 37th annual Wickham Park Invitational, second at the Stratton Invitational and third at the Ocean State Invitational. Personal best time of 19:13.3 came in her runner-up finish at the 12th Rock Northeast Invitational. 
Honors: Three-time Class M All-State, All-CCC. 
Off the field: Class treasurer all four years. All Academic all four years in the CCC, Bornstein is a member of the National Honor Society. Participates in Special Needs events with brother, who is autistic. 
Up next: Will run cross country and track at Abilene Christian.

Alexa Ciccone 

Cheshire, Sophomore 

Stats: Runner-up in Class L with a time of 19:24. Placed fifth in the State Open at 18:55 and was 29th at the New England meet (20:42.23). Ciccone set two course records, won three dual meets, and was SCC champion. Her best race time was 18:40. Her best time in the 5K was 18:55. Ciccone broke the Cheshire home course record by one minute, 13 seconds. 
Honors: Class L All-State, All-SCC.

Kali Holden 

Trumbull, Senior 

Stats: Placed fourth in Class LL (19:32). Finished sixth at the State Open in 19:03. Holden earned All-New England honors with 21st place finish in 20:23.08. 
Honors: All-New England, Class LL All-State, All-FCIAC.

Anna Keeley 

Ludlowe, Senior 

Stats: Third in the Class LL meet with a time of 19:18. Placed eighth at the State Open in 19:14. Holds school record with 14.45 in 4K and 16:36 in 4.4K.  
Honors: Class LL All-State, All-FCIAC. 
Off the field: A National Honor Society member, Keeley founded the L Students for Soldiers that supports USO of Metropolitan NY. 
Up next: Will run cross country and track at Duke.

Sydney Kelleher 

New Milford, Junior 

Stats: The Class L champion with a time of 19:13, Kelleher placed third at the State Open in 18:49. Garnered All-New England honors with an 11th-place finish (19:57.53). A CT Gatorade Runner of the year finalist, Kelleher was SWC champion (19:03), runner-up at  Bowdoin Park Invitational (19:16) and at Woods Trail Run (19:23). Personal best time of 18:49 was second fastest for a New Milford female runner at Wickham Park. Helped New Milford win New England, State Open, Class L and SWC titles. 
Honors: All-New England, Class L All State, All-SWC.

Megan Minicucci 

Bolton, Senior 

Stats: The runner-up in Class S in 20:04, Minicucci finished ninth at the State Open with a personal best time of 19:15. She was 20th with a time of 20:22.29 to earn All-New England honors. Minicucci holds school records for home course (19:56) and Wickham Park.
Honors: All-New England, Class S All-State, All-NCCC.
Off the field: Member and president of the National Honor Society, Minicucci earned honors in World History, Latin, Introduction to Art and Construction. She is co-captain of the tennis team, a Church youth group member, camp counselor and after-school teacher.

Chloe Poulos 

Woodland, Senior 

Stats: Class SS champion with a time of 19:54. Finished 11th at State Open (19:21). Poulos was 16th in 20:12.01 to earn All-New England honors. All-NVL MVP, Poulos was first runner from girls program to be All-New England. Holds the home course record of 19:12 and a girls’ school-best time of 19:21 at Wickham Park. 
Honors: All-New England, Two-time Class SS All-State, All-NVL. 
Off the field: Poulos is a member of the World Language and National Honor Societies. 
Up next: Will run cross country and track at Siena.

Katherine Rector 

Ridgefield, Senior 

Stats: Rector won Class LL with a time of 19:01. Placed fourth at the State Open in 18:53. Rector’s personal best time in the 4K was 14:28 at FCIAC championships. Ran an 18:08 in the 5K at the North East XC Club championship. 
Honors: Two-time Class LL All-State, All-FCIAC. 
Off the field: Senator in the Latin Club, Rector is in the National Honor Society. Participates in horseback riding year-round. 
Up next: Will run cross country and track at Washington University in St. Louis.

Brooke Strauss 

Glastonbury, Freshman 

Stats: Runner-up finish in Class LL (19:16) led her team to the state title. Placed second at the State Open with a personal best time of 18:48. Strauss earned All-New England status with a time of 19:50.01, which was good for a seventh-place finish. Was CCC champ for 14-0 Glastonbury. 
Honors: All-New England, Class LL All-State, All-CCC.

Madelaine Sweeney 

New Milford, Senior 

Stats: Sweeney was third at state meet with a time of 19:40 to lead Green Wave to Class L team title. Placed seventh at State Open in 19:11. Sweeney's time of 20:27.07 was good for 23rd and a spot on the All-New England team. Personal best time of 19:11 was best for a New Milford female at Wickham Park. Helped New Milford win New England, State Open, Class L and SWC titles.
Honors: All-New England, Class L All-State, All-SWC. 
Up next: Will run cross country and track at UConn.
