Donovan Clingan, Bristol Central: Posted one final double-double (25 points, 24 rebounds) in Bristol Central’s 56-36 win over Northwest Catholic in the Division II state championship game. Clingan also had 30 points and 20 rebounds in the Rams’ 54-52 overtime win against Wilton in the semifinals.
James Jones, East Catholic: Had 14 points, 13 rebounds and four blocked shots, including on in the final seconds, to help preserve East Catholic’s 50-49 win over Notre Dame-West Haven in the Division I state championship game.
Hudson Geremia, Hand: Scored 27 points in the Tigers’ 76-65 victory over St. Bernard in the Division III semifinals. Geremia had 15 points and 10 rebounds in Hand’s 56-39 win over Kolbe Cathedral to capture its first state championship.
Dan Hernandez, SMSA: Scored 25 points to help SMSA outlast Capital Prep 78-71 in double overtime in the Division V semifinals.
Kaeyshawn Mitchell, Elijah Graig and Quincy Ferguson, Capital Prep: Mitchell scored 26 points and Ferguson and Graig hit 3-pointers to send the Division V semifinal against SMSA to overtime and double overtime, respectively.
Josh Brown, Granby: Scored 26 points in the Bears’ 59-48 victory over Cromwell in the Division IV semifinals.
Travis Mangual, Windham: Shot at the buzzer sent Windham to the Division V championship game, beating Windsor Locks 53-50.
Najimi George, Kolbe Cathedral: Sophomore scored 25 points in the Cougars’ 61-55 win over Kennedy in the Division III semifinals.
Howard Simpson, Bloomfield: Posted a double-double (23 points, 14 rebounds) in the Warhawks’ 73-64 win over Granby to take home the Division IV state championship.
