Bridgeport’s very own John Mayer is putting down his guitar and to make a guest appearance on truTV's “Impractical Jokers” Thursday.
The show follows Brian Quinn, James Murray and Sal Vulcano, the "jokers," as they compete to embarrass one another in public with a series of dares.
During the show, the jokers and Mayer try to convince office workers to join them at a business dinner. The losing joker will face the "wrath of angry Mayer fans in a humiliating punishment," according to a news release. In a clip from Thursday's episode, Mayer is seen in an office meeting with Vulcano and others as they try to prank one of the attendees. Vulcano arm wrestles another attendee and others are challenged to drink from a large jug of coffee as they try to prank an unsuspecting worker. Jokers Quinn and Murray use hidden ear pieces to tell everyone but the person being pranked what to do.
Last month, Bridgeport’s Sound on Sound music festival announced Mayer will be one of 2023's headliners. He's the first artist announced for the September festival's lineup. Before Sound on Sound, Mayer will head out on a solo tour this spring. The tour will feature Mayer on stage without a band as he performs both old and new songs on acoustic and electric guitar and piano.
"Impractical Jokers" returned for its 10th season in February. The new season features other celebrity guests like rapper Post Malone, singer Brett Michaels, NBA star Anthony Davis and more.
"Impractical Jokers" premieres every Thursday on truTV and TBS at 10 p.m.
