Richard Thompson comes to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, June 23, at 8 p.m., with his Solo/Acoustic tour, part of Doyle Coffin Singer Songwriter Series.

Heralded as “the finest rock songwriter after Dylan and the best electric guitarist since Hendrix,” by the LA Times, Richard Thompson’s genre defying mastery of both acoustic and electric guitar along with dizzying energy and onstage will continue to earn him new fans and a place as one of the most distinctive virtuosos in folk rock history.

Upon his latest album, 13 Rivers, Thompson reflects, “There are 13 songs on the record, and each one is like a river. Some flow faster than others. Some follow a slow and winding current. They all culminate on this one body of work.”

For tickets, at $48, call or visit the box office, 203-438-5795 or go online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a nonprofit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street.
