The Housatonic chapter of Habitat for Humanity will be taking donations at St. Mary Parish, 55 Catoonah Street, on Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations can include gently used furniture in serviceable condition, building supplies, appliances, flooring and other household items. They should be dropped off in the parking lot of St. Mary School, across the street from the church. They're also collecting household appliances, mirrors, outdoor cabinets, windows, doors, lighting, tools, flooring, and artwork. "Housatonic Habitat for Humanity focuses on making a meaningful difference in the lives of qualified working families by promoting financial stability and self-sufficiency through ownership of affordable homes," the group said in a press release. "Households often consist of those who have limited assets and who have jobs that also have income caps."
