Multiple crashes as snow falls on roads

6:40 — Cars continue crashing on Ridgefield roads. Police are out now with a car that struck a utility pole on Branchville Road near Bloomer Road.

4:25 — Crash with airbag deployment at Tackora Trail and Route 116.

3:25 — Car into pole near Ski and Sport shop.

3:04 — Car off the road near Boys and Girls Club. Another crash reported on Great Hill Road.

3:03 — Car off the road on North Street.

3:01 — Town highway truck is having some trouble on Fulling Mill.

2:50 — A car crashed into a telephone pole on Fulling Mill Lane.

2:49 — Another crash has been reported, again with no injures, at Route 116 and Wooster Street.

Town highway department is being called to sand Cain’s Hill so the tow truck can get the car out of the ditch.

2:37 — A fourth crash has been reported right in front of the police station at East Ridge and Governor Street.

Original story — A few car crashes were reported Saturday afternoon as snow blanketed Ridgefield Roads.

No injuries were reported, but Cain’s Hill was shut down to traffic just before 2:30 while a tow truck is called to remove a car from a ditch. Traffic was being diverted onto New Road.

There was a two-car crash at Farmingville and Norran’s Ridge and on Danbury Road near South Street. The crash on Cain’s Hill involved only one car.
