Storm update: 18 roads blocked, 1,650 residents without power

Roger Garbow took this picture of a downed utility pole on Mimosa Court. He summed up the damage from Tuesday’s storm succinctly: Mimosa Court is going to need some extensive repairs.

First Selectman Rudy Marconi has updated residents on road closures and power outages caused from Tuesday night’s storm.

“We remain 15%  without power with only safety situations being addressed last night,” he said. “We expect approximately three Eversource crews in town today working with tree crews and town crews. The amount of damage is restricted to the north end of town; however, in that area there are some very dangerous situations. Schools have announced there is no school today.  Continue to monitor school communications for updates.”

All downed wires should be considered live.  If you use daycare, check with your provider to be sure they are open.

For power outages, please call Eversource at 800-286-2000.

For all emergencies, dial 911. For more information, call Ridgefield Emergency Operations Center Call Center at 203-431-2350.
