Ridgefield student news: New York University, Belmont, and St. Lawrence

Christina Gramling of Ridgefield, Class of 2018, has been named to Bryant University’s dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester.

Alex Gabriele of Ridgefield, Class of 2019, was inducted into the communication honor society Lambda Pi Eta at Eastern Connecticut State University and also received an award for Excellence in Research. He presented his research at the 2018 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) at the University of Central Oklahoma. His research was titled The Effect of Campus Alcohol Policies and Stress on College Binge Drinking. Gabriele, Class of 2019, majors in communication.

Ian Ghidossi of Ridgefield graduated from New York University with a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish language and literature and linguistics with a Fowkes Award for outstanding work.

Madison Perrott of Ridgefield was named to the dean’s list at Belmont University for the spring 2018 semester.

The following students from Ridgefield have received academic honors at The Harvey School:  

Justin Tebbutt, grade 12, was named to the honor roll and Katie Ketner, grade 11, and Elias Lichten, grade nine, have been named to the Head’s List for the first marking period of the fall term.

Muhlenberg College student Kelly Shannon of Ridgefield, Class of 2018, received the Paul C. Sherr Essay Prize. It is awarded to the senior majoring in English who writes the best piece of nonfiction, research or impressionistic, about any aspect of English or American literature.

Kailee Renne of Ridgefield graduated from Cedarville University on May 5 with a degree in psychology.

Cullen Scheer of Ridgefield, was recently initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Scheer is pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering at Clarkson University.

Abigail E. McVeigh of Ridgefield has been selected for membership in the St. Lawrence University chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta, the international sociology honorary society. McVeigh, a member of the Class of 2018, is majoring in sociology.

Christopher David Savoca, son of Thomas and Catherine Savoca, has graduated from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor of engineering degree with a major in electrical engineering and a minor in computer science and engineering management. Savoca will be working at Cisco Systems in California as a network engineer.
