Zandri’s homer leads RHS baseball team past Danbury

Adam Zandri’s two-run homer in the top of the eighth inning lifted the Ridgefield High baseball team to a 9-7 victory over host Danbury on Monday.

The Tigers (10-2) had sent the game into extra innings by scoring two runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Colin Virag, who pitched three scoreless innings in relief of starter Devin Martin, got the win for Ridgefield.

Zandri finished 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBIs.

Robbie DePalma also went 3-for-5 and scored three runs, while Martin contributed a three-run homer.

Jason Marra had two hits, and Phil Sammon drove in two runs.
