Pamela Lowell, 75, active in community, former chamber leader


Pamela T. (Muddy) Lowell, who was active in
Ridgefield community work, died on Friday, Feb. 22. She was 75
years old and the wife of Robert Lowell. Mrs. Lowell was born on
July 22, 1937, in Port Chester, N.Y. and lived in her early years
in Rye, N.Y., where she graduated from Rye High School. She
attended Averett Junior College in Danville, Va., and SUNY at Stony
Brook, N.Y. She married her husband Robert in September 1959. A
resident of Ridgefield since 1991, Mrs. Lowell was director of the
Chamber of Commerce in the early 1990’s and served on the town’s
300th Anniversary Celebration committee as well as the 300th
Anniversary Committee of the First Congregational Church in 2012.
She was also active in the Caudatowa Garden Club. Mrs. Lowell was
predeceased by her son, Mark W. Lowell. Her other son, Douglas,
lives in Miami, Fla., with his wife, Rosamarie, and their children
Jessica, Peter, Gabriella and Isabella. Her brother Howard lives in
The Villages in Florida. The Rev. Charles Hambrick-Stowe will lead
a memorial service on Friday, March 1, at 11 a.m. at the First
Congregational Church of Ridgefield with a reception to follow at
the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be
made to the Ridgefield Fire Department Ambulance Fund, 6 Catoonah
