Girls basketball: RHS pulls away to beat Central

The Ridgefield High girls basketball team pulled away in the second half for a 59-30 win over Bridgeport Central on Friday night in Ridgefield.

The Tigers are now 11-5 overall and 10-4 in the FCIAC.

Ridgefield led 22-15 at halftime and then outscored the Hilltoppers, 37-15, in the second half.

Sandy Carpenter scored 16 points to lead Ridgefield. Andrea Ferrero and Maggie Scalzo each added 10 points, and Andrea Bedard and Rebecca Lawrence had seven points apiece.

Carpenter and Ferrero each hit two three-pointers for the Tigers.
