Giving Thanks: ROAR gala

Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue (ROAR) honored Ridgefield-resident Scott Linke with its 2019 ROAR Community Star Award for his outstanding contributions and support at its annual ROAR gala and fundraiser. To the Editor:

On behalf of the Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue (ROAR), we would like to express our gratitude to our guests, local business contributors, annual sponsors, and volunteers for making our annual gala a tremendous success. Held at Le Chateau, our event celebrated recent accomplishments in finding forever homes for rescue cats and dogs, and helped raise funds for ROAR to support the continued rescue, care and adoption of animals by the ROAR Donofrio Family Animal Shelter.

Thank you to local area businesses and individuals who contributed many amazing items for our live and silent auctions, and made donations. Your generosity will help us rescue more dogs and cats, and help our adoptable animals put their best paws forward and transition to their forever homes. It will also help us provide support to adopters so they understand the responsibilities and rewards of pet ownership.

Thank you to our annual sponsors, Adam Broderick Salon & Spa, Blue Buffalo, Canine Company, BMW of Ridgefield, Cornell University Veterinary Specialists, Fairfield County Bank and Tito’s, for their deep passion and ongoing commitment for supporting the rescue and adoption of homeless pets.

Also, thank you to Ira Joe Fisher for lending his voice to help tell our story.

Thank you to the ROAR committee chairs and volunteers for their time to plan our gala and help our guests.

There are many loving dogs and cats who are waiting for their chance to join families in loving, forever homes. It is through the ongoing support of the local community, generous donors, volunteers and sponsors that give these animals that chance of finding homes with people who love them and care for them like family. We are forever grateful.
