Branchville Elementary School students will have new couches to sit on, thanks to a $5,000 gift from the school’s PTA.
The Board of Education approved the gift, which was paid for through a grant from the Newman’s Own Foundation, at its March 11 meeting.
The funds will be used to purchase three couches, which can be broken up and rearranged as needed. It’s the second set of furniture purchased for the school through the grant. In June 2018, the school board approved a separate gift of $5,000 for child-sized furniture.
Branchville Principal Keith Margolus said the second donation would help the school complete their furniture upgrade.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for Ridgefield schools,” Margolus told the board.
