The Ridgefield Visiting Nurses Association (RVNA) has received a $34,000 donation from the Ridgefield Thrift Shop to establish the “Ridgefield Thrift Shop Hospice by RVNA Fund.”

The grant will support RVNA Hospice services, which offer end-of-life care to hospice patients and their families. RVNA Hospice services received official accreditation in November 2018 and extend RVNA’s offerings to include individuals at all stages of life and health. Hospice services include medical care and symptom management, as well as highly-experienced emotional, social, and spiritual support.  The Ridgefield Thrift Shop Hospice by RVNA Fund will support activities, equipment, and resources that aim to bring peace, comfort, and resolution at this very important time of life.

“RVNA is very grateful to the Thrift Shop for founding this special fund which will thrive for years to come,” said Nancy Rowe, the RVNA’s public relations director. “RVNA and the Thrift Shop enjoy a rich partnership that dates back to 1937, when the shop was created to support the work of the District Nursing Association, now RVNA.”
