Four days of budget meetings lie ahead for the Board of Selectmen, with rising health insurance costs threatening to complicate efforts to hold the line at a 0% increase in the selectmen’s $38-million budget for town departments and road work.
The Board of Education is doing its own work on a more than $98-million request from Interim Superintendent JeanAnn Paddyfote, which represents a 3.43% increase.
The selectmen’s budget meetings are scheduled Monday, Feb. 4, Tuesday, Feb. 5, and Thursday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. In town hall’s lower level conference room.
On Wednesday, Feb. 6, a regular selectmen’s meeting is scheduled starting at 7:30 p.m. in the same room, with budget discussions listed at the end of the agenda.
