Ridgefield boys swim team still unbeaten

The Ridgefield High boys swim team remained undefeated with a 97-84 victory over the Norwalk/Brien McMahon combined team last Friday in Norwalk.

The Tigers (4-0) opened a 97-52 lead before swimming exhibition (no points) in the final two events.

Finishing first individually for Ridgefield were Luke Hruska in the 200 individual medley (2:04.90), Ethan Murray in the 50 freestyle (23.31), Connor Hunt in the 100 butterfly (54.58), Will Bryant in the 100 freestyle (50.90), and Andrew Yu in the 100 backstroke (56.08).

Yu, Bryant, Hunt, and Linney O’Malley combined to win the 200 medley relay (1:44.41), and Murray, Linney O’Malley, Hruska, and Hunt triumphed in the 200 freestyle relay (1:34.15).

Adding second-place finishes for the Tigers were Gavin Egerton in the 200 freestyle (1:51.54) and the 100 freestyle (51.66), Yu in the 200 IM (2:05.40), Luke Mignano in the 50 freestyle (24.13), Caitlin Inall in the diving competition (273.55), and Terry Li in the 500 freestyle (5:02.51).

Placing third were Matthew Johnston in the 200 freestyle (1:55.68), Presley Milton in the 200 IM (2:10.03), Linney O’Malley in the 100 butterfly (56.27), Kai O’Malley in the 500 freestyle (5:05.82), and Li in the 100 backstroke (1:02.21).

Milton, Kai O’Malley, Mignano, and Vidur Hareesh finished third in the 200 medley relay (1:51.90), and Egerton, Johnston, Mignano, and Kai O’Malley placed third in the 200 freestyle relay (1:36.34).
