For the Ridgefield High boys and girls ski teams, Wednesday’s season-opening meet could not have gone better.
Both Ridgefield squads swept their head-to-head races and also finished first overall among all the teams competing at Mount Southington.
The Ridgefield boys had a team time of 296.39 seconds to defeat Fairfield Prep (304.78), Weston (307.43), Brunswick/Greenwich Academy (318.02), Guilford (348.65), and Northwest Regional/Gilbert (no score).
Jakob Robinson led the Tigers with a second-place individual finish in a combined time of 46.64 seconds for his two runs.
Teammate Declan McNamara was close behind, finishing fifth overall in a combined time of 47.73 seconds.
Two other Ridgefield skiers were in the top-20 overall: Alex Bornstein was 11th (49.04), and Joseph Pastore finished 20th (49.86).
Eliot Hynes (24th, 24.84) and Luke Faillaci (33rd, 51.30) also contributed to the Tigers’ team time.
The Ridgefield girls had a team time of 305.16 seconds to sweep Weston (317.02), Guilford (373.82), Brunswick/Greenwich Academy (no score), and Northwest Regional/Gilbert (no score).
Riley Peters was second overall for the Tigers in the individual standings with a two-run combined time of 47.63 seconds.
Also placing in the top 10 for Ridgefield was Isabel Redrup, who was seventh overall with a time of 49.29 seconds.
Lauren Tsai (13th, 49.90) and Julia Bragg (14th, 50.05) added top-20 overall finishes for the Tigers.
Grace Bucci (27th, 52.75) and Chelsea Schwartz (35th, 54.91) also contributed to Ridgefield’s team time.
