Schools get gifts

Ridgefield schools have received over $11,000 in gifts so far this school year — most of which has gone to the Barlow Mountain pool, which is used by other schools and organizations.

The Ridgefield Athletic Association and the RHS Tiger Swimming Booster Club each donated $1,000 toward the purchase and installation of a new scoreboard at the Barlow Mountain swimming pool.

The Ridgefield Athletic Association also donated $5,000 to for the purchase of a new timing system at the pool.

Back on dry land, Mr. and Mrs. Hank Kuchta donated $1,505 for a new storage box at the RHS tennis courts.

Madeleine Bouissou, a former East Ridge Middle School student, donated $1,057 to support that school’s orchestra music program.

Peter Hearst, grandfather of senior Emily Castle, donated $2,000 toward technology at the high school.

In all the school board, which has to approve all gifts, has accepted $11,562 so far this school year.
