Letter: Discovery Center seeks volunteers

To the Editor:

For over 30 years, the Discovery Center has offered programs designed to foster a love of nature, an interest in science, and an appreciation of history and the cultural arts in all persons, particularly the young. These programs have ranged from hikes in Ridgefield open spaces, bird walks, snow shoeing, and astronomy to major events like the Ghosts of Ridgefield historical hike each October.

However, to continue offering these programs, the Discovery Center urgently needs volunteers, both to lead programs and to serve on its board of directors.

The Discovery Center at Ridgefield will be holding a special meeting in late January to discuss its future as an organization and how it can continue to meet the needs of the community.

Date and location of the special meeting will be announced. Members of the public who are interested in volunteering should contact the Discovery Center at info@ridgefielddiscovery.org or 203-438-1063. We look forward to hearing from you!
