The Ridgefield High wrestling team went four-for-four on Saturday.
Competing in dual meets at Amity High School, Ridgefield defeated all four of its opponents. The Tigers defeated Maloney (48-27), Morgan (62-18), New Haven (66-18), and Amity (36-31).
Ridgefield’s most dominating wrestler was senior Lazar Agoev, who went 4-0 with four pins at 160 pounds. Agoev pinned all of his opponents in under two minutes, with the fastest pin coming in 20 seconds against his Amity opponent.
Fellow senior Ben Smart also won all four of his matches for the Tigers. Smart pinned three opponents at 126 pounds and added a 16-13 decision over Maloney’s Jayden Robles at 132 pounds.
Adding four victories apiece for Ridgefield were Sam Klotz, Lucas Ferreira, and Nate Blaha. Klotz had one pin and three forfeits at 220 pounds; Ferreira had two pins and a forfeit at 120 pounds and a 16-0 technical fall at 126 pounds; and Blaha had a pin, a 3-0 decision and a forfeit at 106 pounds and a 15-5 major decision at 113 pounds.
Connor Brown (152 pounds) and Liam Keppler (170 pounds) each contributed three wins for the Tigers. Brown had two pins and a 15-0 technical fall, while Keppler got two forfeit victories and a 12-6 decision.
Contributing two triumphs were Lexani Pagan (pin, forfeit) at 113 pounds; Cooper Rivera (forfeits) at 138 pounds; Philip Ferreira (forfeits) at 145 pounds; Stefan Sigurdsson (pin, forfeit) at 182 pounds; and James Nightingale (pin, forfeit) at 285 pounds.
Alex Blaha earned a forfeit win for Ridgefield at 106 points in the match against Maloney.
