George William Michel Thomas, 55, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 21, 2018 at home. He was the loving husband of Carol Jean White Thomas.
George was born in Greenwich, CT on June 21, 1963, the son of Helene Marie Savoy Thomas and George William Thomas who predeceased him.
Raised in Greenwich, CT, George attended Fairfield College Preparatory School and graduated St. Lawrence University and Syracuse University Law School, Cum Laude. George enjoyed a distinguished career as an attorney working for Cummings and Lockwood, Day, Berry and Howard, and was Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Vertrue Inc.
On October 14, 2000 George and Carol (CJ) were married on their beloved VT property where they had a second home in Weathersfield. As an Eagle Scout, avid and passionate hunter/conservationist and former president of Campfire Club of America, George thoroughly enjoyed all things outdoors on their 200 plus VT acres.
His beautiful daughters Katherine Helene Thomas, 15 and Samantha Savoy Thomas, 13 were his greatest joy in life. He married into a large, loud extended family and is survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
George will be fondly remembered by his family for his quick wit, razor sharp sense of humor and for hosting the family in VT for their annual “Camp George” long weekend.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 10:15 AM at St. Mary Church, 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Friends and family will be received on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.
In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s memory can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
