All-FCIAC honors for Ridgefield fall sports athletes

Thirty-nine Ridgefield High School athletes have received All-Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference honors for the fall sports season.

Senior defensive end Jackson Mitchell was named to the All-FCIAC football first-team defense. Senior running back Ben Seward, senior offensive lineman Peter Behnke, senior defensive end Nick Hall, junior linebacker Daniel Moroney, sophomore defensive back Owen Gaydos, and junior defensive back Alex Hanna all made the All-West Division squad.

Senior defender Claire Middlebrook, junior forward Caitlin Slaminko, sophomore forward Faith Arnold, and senior goalie Lauren Castle were selected to the All-FCIAC first team. Junior midfielder Megan Klosowski made the All-FCIAC second team, and sophomore forward Tasha Riek, freshman midfielder Meredith Clifford, and freshman forward Julia Bragg earned honorable mention.

In boys soccer, senior forward Nick Yulo and senior defenders Andrew Masciotti and Nicholas Gasparo were named to the All-East Division team.

Junior midfielder Bella Carrozza was selected to the All-FCIAC field hockey first team. Junior forward Cait Irving made the All-East squad, and senior defender Ellie O’Connor and junior defender Bailey Harriott received honorable mention.

Eight Ridgefield High girls swimmers earned honors. Seniors Anna Turner, Jenna Leonard and Hannah Snyder and sophomores Rylie Giles and Stephanie Bishop made the All-FCIAC first team, while senior Jenna Budicini and junior Hanna Sotolongo made the second team.

Senior Mackenzie Wanicka was chosen to the All-FCIAC girls volleyball second team. Junior Julia Kocsis earned honorable mention.

Senior Gabriella Viggiano and junior Tess Pisanelli both made the All-FCIAC girls cross country first team. Juniors Elizabeth Jasminski and Katherine Langis and sophomore Rory McGrath made the second team.

In boys cross country, junior Chip Coffin earned a spot on the All-FCIAC first team. Junior Ethan MacKenzie and sophomore Charles Namiot made the second team.

Notes: The football, boys and girls soccer, field hockey, and girls volleyball teams were chosen by a vote of conference coaches. The girls swimming and boys and girls cross country teams were determined by results at FCIAC championship meets.
