Ridgefield High athletes will compete for D1 colleges

Six Ridgefield High School seniors who will compete collegiately at the Division I level were honored during a signing ceremony last Tuesday at the school.

Lexie Skor has signed a National Letter of Intent to row at the University of Delaware, where she has been accepted and invited to enroll in the Honors College. She plans to major in Human Resources Administration.

Skor is a member of the National Honor Society, having been on the honor roll every semester while attending RHS. Her grade-point average is 3.975.

Skor trains at the GMS Rowing Center in New Milford, and has raced in regattas both nationally and internationally.

She was ranked 10th in the nation in the lightweight double at the 2018 Youth National Championships in Sacramento, Calif., and second in the lightweight quad at the 2018 Club National Championships in Camden, N.J.

In addition to rowing, Skor is the chief investment officer for the RHS investment club and has volunteered at Greenwich Hospital.

Jenna Leonard has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for the women’s swim team at the University of Delaware, where she plans to major in marine biology.

Leonard is an honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society.

She has been on the Ridgefield High girls swim team for four years and was a captain for the 2018 season. Leonard earned the Tiger Pride Award as both a freshman and sophomore and has received All-FCIAC first team and All-State honors on multiple occasions.

Leonard is also a member of the Ridgefield Aquatic Club national team and has competed at many national level meets. She has earned CT Top 16 awards for the past six years.

Maeve Tobin has signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division I women’s lacrosse at Temple University.

Tobin is a high honor roll student with a cumulative GPA of 4.13.

In addition to lacrosse, Tobin played soccer at Ridgefield High as a freshman and sophomore. Tobin has played varsity lacrosse at RHS for three years under coach Cece Berger. Last spring, she earned All-FCIAC and All-State honors and also won the Spirit of the Stick award.

She was a member of Team Connecticut for the 2017 national tournament at Yale University in New Haven, and also participated in the 2016 U-16 national tournament as a member of the 3d club team.

Anna Turner has signed a National Letter of Intent to swim at Villanova University.

A high honor roll student at Ridgefield High, Turner has served as captain of both the Ridgefield High girls swim team and the Ridgefield Aquatic Club national team.

As a junior at RHS, she won the 200-yard freestyle at the FCIAC and Class LL state championships and was runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle at the FCIAC and Class LL meets.

This fall, Turner finished first in the 200 and 500 freestyle races at the Class LL meet and then placed second in both events at the State Open.

She has earned All-FCIAC, All-State and All-American honors the last three seasons.

Last spring, Turner competed at Junior Nationals and finished in the top 10 in four events.

Daniel Parson will be playing Division 1 college lacrosse at Bucknell University.

Parson, a goalie, will be playing his fourth year of varsity lacrosse for Ridgefield High next spring. He has earned All-FCIAC West and All-FCIAC Honorable Mention honors.

Parson was a member of the RHS team that upset Darien to win the Class L state championship last spring.

Parson is also entering his third season with the Ridgefield High varsity boys hockey team; the Tigers are the reigning FCIAC champions.

Parson has maintained high honors and has a weighted GPA of 4.188 at Ridgefield High, where he is a member of the National Honor Society. He plans on majoring in economics at Bucknell.

Jenna Budicini has committed to swim at Fairfield University, where she plans to major in marketing.

Budicini is an honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society at RHS.

She has been a member of the girls varsity swim at RHS for the last four years and served as a co-captain this fall. She is also a member of the Ridgefield Aquatic Club senior team and has placed in the Top 16 individually at several meets, including the CT Senior Championships and the Eastern Zone Championships.
