The Land Conservancy of Ridgefield, Inc. has received a donation land off North Salem Road from resident Helena Hernmarck.
Hernmarck made the donation in memory of Donald Torcellini, who cared for the property and kept it in its wonderful natural state for many years. The Land Conservancy will be placing a plaque on the property in memory of Mr. Torcellini.
The non-profit is centered on the principle of protecting land and maintaining its inherent natural habitat, in perpetuity, for the diverse population of wildlife in our beautiful town of Ridgefield and for the benefit of our neighbors and the entire community.
“The Land Conservancy [LC] was most honored by Ms. Hernmarck’s trust in the LC and we are dedicated to do whatever is needed to keep the land in its natural state, in perpetuity, forever, for always, for good, forevermore, permanently, for eternity… for all time,” said Joan Corley, president of the LC. ”We imagine the previous donors of the other over 100 parcels of land, donated over the past 50 years, had this same trust in the LC.”
