Ridgefield handles Hamden, 5-1, in boys hockey

In a meeting of two of the state’s top-10 squads, the Ridgefield boys hockey team made a statement.

Playing on the road against Hamden, the Tigers registered an impressive 5-1 victory.

Hamden (1-2) was ranked third and Ridgefield seventh in the New Haven Register’s Preseason Top-10 Poll.

Ridgefield (2-1) got two goals from Anthony Rowella and single tallies from Andy DeLalla, Chris Morrow and Vin Rella.

The Tigers led 2-0 after one period and 3-1 after two.
