The district hired three new high school staff members and 16 para-educators between the last week of August and the middle of September.
The new high school staff included a business teacher, a school counselor, and a chemistry teacher.
Of the 16 new paras hired, nine were special education instructors, and six were supervisors. The remaining hire is a clerical para-educator.
Personnel director Karen Dewing said the district will have to submit a report on its staff and their certifications to the state on Oct. 1.
According to Dewing’s Sept. 24 staffing report, the district lost five staff members in the same time period to resignation or retirement — an elementary school gym teacher, and four special education paras at the elementary and middle schools.
