William C. Hearing, 89, of Ridgefield, passed away on September 11, 2018. He was the loving husband of Iris (Sawyer) Hearing.
Mr. Hearing was born in Stamford, CT on August 13, 1929; a son of the late William Sr. and Emma (Toth) Hearing. William grew up and was educated in Stamford, CT.
Mr. Hearing served in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Hearing got involved in real estate which brought him to Ridgefield, 53 years ago. He later went on to become a regional sales manager at Tuck Industries until retirement.
He was a member of the Ridgefield, CT American Legion. He enjoyed traveling, reading, and scouring the local tag sales and antique shops. He was a wonderful grandfather and enjoyed teaching them the joys of finding hidden treasures.
Mr. Hearing is survived by his wife of 58 years, Iris and his four children: Wendy Leblanc and her husband, Stephen Woodin; Lorilee Palazzo and her husband, John Palazzo; Chip Hearing and his partner, Lorienne Cote and Jodi Lee Hamilton and her husband, Stephen.
Mr. Hearing is also survived by six grandchildren: David, Zachary, Tori, Nicholas, Alexander and Austin as well as four great-grandchildren: Micah, Avery, Nathaniel and Skylyn.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hearing was predeceased by a granddaughter, Michelle.
Friends will be received on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Interment will be private.
