Kate Yan, daughter of Cindy Gu and Lu Yan of Rochester, N.Y., was married to Andrew Furman, son of Stephanie and Steven Furman of Ridgefield, on June 9. Kevin Wu performed the ceremony at Houston Hall in New York City.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless French tulle gown by Vera Wang, with a chapel train. She carried a bouquet of peonies, ivory roses, with seeded eucalyptus.
Jennifer Chui of Maryland was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Melissa Furman, sister of the groom, Lauren Hirata, Christina Maksymiuk and Harmony Ma all of New York City. They wore blush colored dresses and carried peonies with ivory roses.
Sam Russell of New York City was best man. Ushers were Luke Mastrogiorgio, Jake Yosafat and Joe Burgess, all of New York City.
The bride graduated from Pittsford Sutherland High School in 2007 and Carnegie Mellon University in 2011. She is a senior consultant with Nordic Consulting Partners, Inc. in Madison, Wisc. The groom graduated from Ridgefield High School in 2008 and Carnegie Mellon University in 2011. He is a manager with PWC in New York City.
Kate and Andrew plan on honeymooning in the Seychelles. They currently live in New York City but are relocating to Seattle, Wash., in September.
