Ridgefielder, 22, killed in New Jersey crash

A 22-year-old Ridgefield woman and a New Jersey man were killed in a head-on crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in Kearny early Friday morning.

Erin B. Vick of Ridgefield, and Moises Rivera, 32, of Clifton, N.J., who were the drivers of the two cars that collided, both died in the 12:35 accident, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Adam Grossman.

A 20-year-old Tennessee man in Ms. Vick’s car was hospitalized with serious injuries.

One of the cars was driving in the wrong direction, Sgt. Grossman said, but it’s unknown which car that was.

“Everything is still under investigation at this time,” he said.

Ms. Vick, daughter of Michael  and Colleen Vick, was a 2009 Ridgefield High School graduate and nursing student at the Catholic University of American in Washington, D.C., according to her Facebook page.

Ms. Vick made honor roll many times throughout middle and high school career.

Services for Ms. Vick will take place Wednesday at St. Mary Church.
