Ridgefield Responds activates to help Sandy victims

Ridgefield Responds is coming together to help with disaster relief after Hurricane Sandy.

The organization, founded in 2005 to help victims of Hurricane Katrina, will be having an organizational meeting on Monday, Nov.  19,  at 1 pm at the Community Center.

“If you are interested in helping those directly affected by Hurricane Sandy, please join us,” said Betsy Brand.  “There is no limit to the need across the New York metro area and it will be ongoing for some time to come.”

Ms. Brand said,  “Our community has always been extremely generous, most recently after Katrina and the earthquake in Haiti, and so we are coming together once again to offer our support in as many ways as possible.

“While we have contacts for communities to directly support, we will welcome ideas as to how best garner our collective support and help with relief efforts.  If you have the time, interest and skills to lend a helping hand, we hope to see you on Monday.”

“Please ‘like’ us for future updates on meetings, collections and events,” Ms. Brand said.
