Tuition increase approved for out-of-town students

Non-residents who attend the Ridgefield Public Schools will have an annual tuition of $4,800 for the 2018-19 school year, an increase of $188.

The tuition only covers the general education program — non-residents students who require extra services or programs will be charged the full list price by the district.

The only non-residents of Ridgefield who can attend the town’s public schools are the children of public school employees, town employees, the school bus company, or food service employees of the schools.

“In previous years, you could apply with having no connection to the district,” Assistant Superintendent Kim Beck said.

There are currently 13 non-resident students attending the town’s schools.
