Firemen’s carnival: More rides, plenty of parking

The firemen’s carnival will boast more rides and more parking than ever before for Ridgefielders looking to kick start their summer, thanks to a new location at Ridgefield Professional Office Park (901 Ethan Allen Highway).
Paul Dinardo, the property’s manager, called Deputy Fire Chief Tim Pambianchi when he heard the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department was considering cancelling the event this year.
“I read a news flash on my phone indicating that the annual Ridgefield firefighters benefit carnival was cancelled due to the extended school schedule at East Ridge Middle School,” siad Richard Lipton one of the managing partners of Ridgefield Professional Office Park, LLC.
“After reviewing with my other principal partner, Jay Klarsfeld, we thought about the times we brought our children to the carnival in the past, and immediately wanted to help. We called Paul DiNardo, the property manager at Elite Property Care, Inc. and asked him to contact the fire department to see if we could help.”
Pambianchi told The Press last week that the event wouldn’t have been possible without Lipton and Dinardo’s help.
“They reached out to us to host the carnival,” he said.

Three days, no fireworks

The event, which will celebrate its 21st year of fund-raising for the Ridgefield Fire Department later this month, won’t feature the annual fireworks show. It will also be a three-day fair, not the traditional four days.
“There will be no fireworks this year due to the location,” Pambianchi said.
The carnival starts Thursday, June 28, and runs through Saturday, June 30. It will be held 6 to 10 p.m. every night, and will be held in the campus’ south side of the lot — closest to Ace Tire.
Pambianchi said he expects about 6,000 residents to attend the fund-raising event, and emphasized that the new location will have plenty of parking thanks to the new venue.
Due to the larger location, Tufano Amusements will bring in a few extra rides this year, Pambianchi added.
