Police officers help carry Special Olympics torch (VIDEO)

A group about 80 police officers from neighboring departments and correctional facilities participated in the annual Special Olympics Torch Run Friday, June 8. 

 The officers ran around the village with the Special Olympics torch, starting on Prospect Street before making their way up to East Ridge Middle School on East Ridge Road.

Detours included Veterans Park Elementary School on Governor Street and St. Stephen’s Church on Main Street.

The parade, which lasted about an hour, ended back on Prospect Street.
