Gloria “Gogi” C. Bacchiochi

Gloria ‘Gogi’ C. Bacchiochi, 94, formerly of Ridgefield, CT, died on January 4, 2018 in Hilton Head, SC.

She was born in Danbury, CT on December 10,1923. Raised and worked in Bethel, CT until she married James A. Bacchiochi Sr., native of Ridgefield.

He predeceased her in 2008.

Jim and Gloria were married on the 4th of July in 1945 on a 48 hour leave from the Army Air Corp. They were married for 62 yrs.

They raised their 3 children in Ridgefield and wintered in Hilton Head, SC before becoming full time residents 10 yrs ago.

Gloria was a member of the Community Center Women’s Club, Salem Golf Club Ladies 18 holes, Moss Creek Golf Club, St. Mary’s Parish, Founders Hall Senior Center.

She volunteered for over 20 years and chaired the American Cancer Society’s annual fundraiser “Rags to Riches” rummage sale.

Gloria enjoyed painting in watercolors, golf, and most of all cooking and love for her family.

Gloria is survived by her children, James A. Bacchiochi Jr., wife Debrah from Palm City, Fla., Lynn Hill, husband Thomas from Hilton Head, SC, Lisa Auer, husband David from Hilton Head, SC; 8 grandchildren, Tina Tripaldi, James A. Bacchiochi lll (Jen), Christopher Hill (Dina), Tyler Hill (Kelli), Katelin Chapman(Chris), Megan Micale (Kevin), Allison Littlefield (Cole), Lindsey Auer and 11 great-grandchildren.

A mass at St. Mary’s Church and burial will take place in the Spring.
