Six months ago, 74 golfers began a single-elimination match play tournament to determine the Ridgefield Golf Club’s Players Cup recipient for 2012.
Emerging as the winner, after six rounds of play, was Tony Pisano.
Pisano won the Players Cup title by beating Joe Higgins in the championship match.
In the semifinals, Pisano defeated Mike Ablondi and Higgins bested James Bruce.
Over the next few weeks, the Ridgefield Golf Club will be hosting its final few tournaments of the year. On Nov. 3, the club will honor its winners and champions at the Golf Widows’ Ball, an annual end-of-season party held at Silver Spring Country Club. All members are invited to attend the event, which includes food and live music.
