RHS girls soccer team knocks Warde from unbeaten ranks

The Ridgefield High girls soccer team handed host Fairfield Warde its first loss of the season with a 2-1 victory on Saturday in Fairfield.

The Tigers got first-half goals from Keely Lockwood and Carly Cugine to build a 2-o lead at the break.

Amanda Berta assisted on both goals for Ridgefield.

Warde closed within 2-1 on Emily Pullen’s second-half goal, but the hosts were unable to get the equalizer.

Ridgefield goalie Kathryn Eckhoff made five saves as the Tigers out-shot Warde, 8-6.

Ridgefield is now 6-2-1 while Warde is 7-1-2.
