Mark Edwards, who has worked as a commercial and landscape photographer, will lead a two-part Tech Topics program at the Ridgefield Library on Saturday, July 26, and Saturday, Aug. 9, at 1.
At the first session he will discuss how to take better pictures with phones and compact cameras — looking at light and composition, color, zooms, controlling exposure, and how to get the most out of simple cameras. The second workshop will be a more in depth look at taking better pictures with SLR cameras.
Mr. Edwards teaches film and media studies at Sacred Heart University. His book Pirates on Dinosaur Island was published in the spring of 2012. He is writing a column on science fiction television for Space and Time magazine, and teaches an art of science fiction and fantasy writing course for the master of fine arts program at Lesley University.
This program is part of the adult summer reading program sponsored by Friends of the Library. The event is free and registration is not required.
