For the second straight year, Ridgefield’s Ellie Gravitte finished sixth in the javelin competition at the high school track and field nationals.
That meant that for the second straight year, Gravitte earned All-American honors.
Gravitte, a senior at Ridgefield High, had a best throw of 138 feet, six inches to place sixth in the girls javelin Championship division at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals on Sunday in Greensboro, N.C. The top-six finishers in each event received All-American honors.
Megan Glasman of Park City, UT, was first with a throw of 159’1″.
Gravitte was sixth at last year’s nationals with a toss of 132’4″.
