William G. Arndt, 65, barber here for 20 years

William G. Arndt of Bethel, who owned and operated Bill’s Haircutters at 433 Main Street in Ridgefield for 20 years, died Monday, May 20, at Danbury Hospital. He was 65, the husband of Anna (Hopkins) Arndt.

Mr. Arndt was born on Aug. 11, 1947 in Danbury, son of the late George and Ann (DiNardo) Arndt. Before owning the barber shop, he worked in various departments at Danbury Hospital. He enjoyed golf and he was very generous, kind and caring and loved to help the underprivileged, his family said.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a brother and several other relatives, including his niece, Kim Marshall of Ridgefield.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, May 22, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Danbury. Burial was in St. Peter Cemetery.
