Lena M. Frattini, 98, of Ridgefield, beloved wife of the late Charles A. Frattini and loving mother of Dorothy Nero and Joyce Durkin, died on Sunday morning, February 24, 2013 at Hancock Hall, Danbury.
Mrs. Frattini was born in Ridgefield, June 15, 1914, a daughter of the late Elbert and Allegrina (Monte) Salvestrini. She attended Ridgefield schools.
A homemaker, Mrs. Frattini was a lifelong Ridgefield resident, a member of the Italian American Ladies Mutual Aid Society, the OWLS and St. Mary Parish.
She was a former voting poll worker, enjoyed crafts and crocheting.
As a resident of Hancock Hall, Mrs. Frattini developed an interest in painting with acrylics and received an Honorable Mention Award in conjunction with the Art of Successful Aging Painting Competition sponsored by Connecticut Community Cares, Inc.
A loving person of deep faith, she cared for others and enjoyed the privilege given to her to share her love and concern. She will be sorely missed.
In addition to her daughters, Dorothy Nero and her husband, Peter and Joyce Durkin and her husband, Larry, Mrs. Frattini is survived by a sister, Mary Sartini; four grandchildren, Lisa (Richard) Peterson, Brenda (Kevin) Pape, Leslie (Peter) Stankevich and Pamela (Joseph) LeRose; nine great grandchildren, Raven Peterson, Brandon Pape, Rhiannon Pape, Kevin Pape, Durkin Stankevich, Declan Stankevick, Domenico LeRose, Nicolena LeRose and Giavanna LeRose and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 10:15 AM in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield.
Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield.
The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
