The Ridgefield High boys basketball team opened a 10-point lead after the first quarter and went on to a 77-48 win over host Trumbull on Monday night.
The Tigers improved to 15-4 overall and 13-4 in the FCIAC with one regular-season game remaining.
Kurt Steidl paced Ridgefield with 17 points. Jeff Racy and Patrick Racy each added 15 points and Matt Brennan had 10 points. Jeff Racy connected on three three-pointers.
Ridgefield led 16-6 after the opening quarter and 34-22 at halftime. The Tigers then outscored Trumbull, 20-13, in the third quarter to take a commanding 54-35 lead into the final period.
Trumbull fell to 2-17 overall with the loss.
