The Ridgefield High boys hockey team recovered from a 3-1 deficit in the second period to beat Wilton, 5-4, on Wednesday in the annual Winter Garden Cup contest between the teams.
The Tigers are now 14-4 overall heading into Saturday night’s showdown with Darien at the Winter Garden.
Down 3-1, Ridgefield got goals from Cam McGuire and Henry Gough to tie the score entering the final period.
McGuire then got the go-ahead goal midway through the third period, and Liam Smith followed with a goal to make it 5-3.
Wilton scored late in the game to make it a one-goal game but could not get the equalizer.
Vin Rella, who scored Ridgefield’s opening goal in the first period, was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.
Wilton fell to 4-15 with the loss.
