In a pair of games that were postponed several times due to last week’s snowstorm, the Ridgefield High boys and girls hoop teams swept their Fairfield Ludlowe foes Wednesday night.
The closer contest came in Ridgefield, where the RHS girls edged Ludlowe, 45-43. The Tigers outscored Ludlowe, 13-5, in the final quarter to rally for the victory after trailing by six points, 38-32, entering the fourth period.
Andrea Ferrero led Ridgefield (13-6) with 18 points. Sandy Carpenter added 10 points for the Tigers, who trailed 28-25 at halftime.
In Fairfield, the RHS boys hoop team found itself down 13-3 after one quarter before storming back for a 68-41 triumph.
The Tigers outscored Ludlowe, 65-28, over the final three quarters.
Kurt Steidl had a game-high 21 points for Ridgefield (13-4), which led 22-16 at halftime.
Patrick Racy added 13 points, while Jeff Racy had nine points, Zach Ward seven points and Dan Greenberg six points.
