Students in grades kindergarten through 12 may still enter posters in the Sixth Annual HRRA Recycling Poster Contest with the theme of Save Money And Reduce Trash (SMART).
The contest ends Friday, Feb. 22.
Participants’ posters that correspond to the SMART theme will first be judged by grade level in Ridgefield. Then all 13-first place winners will move to the final regional round.
Regional third place winners receive $ 25, second place $50, and first place $75. The grand prize regional winner receives $150. The grand prize regional winner’s participating teacher/organization will receive $1,000 and have their poster on a billboard in their hometown and at another yet-to-be-determined location in Danbury.
This year’s contest sponsors are Union Savings Bank, All American Waste, Winters Brothers Waste Systems, CT and the Housatonic Regional Recycling Association (HRRA). All regional contest winners will be presented with their awards by the sponsors in April at Union Savings Bank’s Main Branch in Danbury.
Poster may be dropped off at each school’s office, at town hall’s information desk Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., or at the highway department located at 60 South Street, Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. An entry form may be downloaded from hrra.org, For more information call 203-431-2748 or visit hrra.org.
