The Ridgefield High boys and girls indoor track teams both won FCIAC Central Division championships on Saturday.
Easily.
The RHS girls had 126 points to beat runner-up Norwalk (51) by 75 points.
The Tigers got first-place finishes from Molly Weeks in the 600-meter run (1:47.35), Laura Hergenrother in the 1,000 (3:19.26), Sarah Guillaume in the 1,600 (5:40.94), Hannah Fleming in the 3,200 (12:13.55), Colleen Gruendel in the pole vault (9’6″), Amanda Berta in the long jump (16’1″), and Kayleen Walter in the shot put (27’5.5″).
Ridgefield also won the 4×750 and 1,500 sprint medley relays.
The RHS boys finished with 105 points to top second-place Norwalk (81.5) by 23.5 points.
Placing first for the Tigers were Graeme Hewett in the 600 (1:34.78), McCall Keller in the 1,000 (2:47.49), Trevor Hopper in the 1,600 (4:44.03), and Will Bordash in the 3,200 (10:18.85),
Ridgefield also triumphed in the 4×375 relay.
