The Parks and Rec Center on Danbury Road will be open as a warming station during regular business hours today through Friday and, if necessary Saturday, according to Fire Chief Heather Burford.
“Parks and Rec is being opened as a warming center for anyone who needs to get out of the cold,” Chief Burford said.
The center is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday Thursday and Friday and 6 to 6 on Saturday.
“If someone comes in and identifies themselves as having an issue with heating at home we’d like to work with those folks to find them a place to stay over night,” Chief Burford said.
